Por un lado, definir una disposici\u00f3n de capas de asiento, formadas por suelos, estabilizaciones o capas base, que permitan obtener como m\u00ednimo la capacidad de soporte especificada para el tr\u00e1fico de proyecto. Por otro lado, una vez alcanzada la capacidad de soporte, definir sus par\u00e1metros caracter\u00edsticos para su posterior introducci\u00f3n en el modelo utilizado para el c\u00e1lculo de la estructura del pavimento.<\/p>\n<p>En los pavimentos asf\u00e1lticos, aplicando el m\u00e9todo racional, se suele considerar, en el modelo como un macizo el\u00e1stico semiinfinito, por tanto, sus par\u00e1metros caracter\u00edsticos ser\u00e1n su m\u00f3dulo de Young equivalente, y su coeficiente de Poisson equivalente.<\/p>\n<p>La prueba del CBR es ampliamente utilizada para determinar la resistencia de los subgrados de carreteras. A pesar de su escasa exactitud, sigue siendo la medida m\u00e1s adecuada y generalmente aceptada, y tiene la ventaja de que tambi\u00e9n puede relacionarse dentro de l\u00edmites razonables con la rigidez (m\u00f3dulo de deformaci\u00f3n).<\/p>\n<p>En la pr\u00e1ctica, se suele considerar E(MPa) = 10 x CBR, en este v\u00eddeo se presenta evidencia de que para 2% mayor CBR menor 12 es m\u00e1s correcto emplear E(MPa) = 17.6 x CBR^0.64 en base a los trabajos de Powell et al.
